As E3 rolls into the Los Angeles Convention Center in three weeks time, Nintendo announced today Nintendo Direct would be heading in its direction.
CEO Satoru Iwata tweeted declared the date and time for the next Nintendo Direct, which would be on June 11 at 7 P.M. Pacific (10 A.M. Eastern). Last week’s Nintendo Direct focused on titles coming to the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS this summer. Shortly after, Iwata teased the succeeding Nintendo Direct would feature a new Smash Bros., 3D Mario game and Mario Kart among “other Wii U titles”.
Last month, Iwata revealed in an investor presentation Nintendo would not hold a press conference at this year’s E3, opting to host “smaller events specifically focused on software titles for the U.S. market”. Nintendo of America’s Senior Director of Corporate Communications Charlie Scibetta said in a press release Nintendo will host two smaller events on the Tuesday of E3 (June 11): a business partner event at the Nokia Theatre, and a media gaming event at Nintendo’s booth at the Convention Center prior to E3’s opening.
