Toronto Global Game Jam this weekend

Toronto Global Game Jam this weekend

For 48 hours this weekend, game developers and game enthusiasts will be crammed into a few floors at George Brown College, to participate in the Toronto Global Game Jam.

The production cycle begins on Friday, as developers attempt to create a game from scratch over the following two days, after the secret theme for the weekend is revealed by organizers. This theme is then translated into each game the developers decide to make.

It’s not a competition, but rather a unique collaboration of developers with a variety backgrounds, and a plethora of unique ideas.

The Global Game Jam is organised by the Global Game Jam, Inc., an international non-profit corporation based in San Luis Obispo, California. Their mission, according to their website, is to “foster game design and game education through innovative events.”

Don’t forget to check out our coverage of the event this weekend, as we get an inside look at what developers are up to.
