The entire story in One Piece: Unlimited World RED revolves around Luffy and his crew helping a raccoon. But in a twist that is appropriately whacky for anime, this raccoon is special in that it can create anything that is drawn on a leaf.
His name is Pato, and it’s up to the Straw Hat Pirates to help him ‘meet someone’. Along the way they encounter a new villain named The Red Count, who has some evil plans of his own.
The news comes way of Namco Bandai, who released information today on what players will be experiencing in the pirate adventure video-game. Not much more information on the story was given, but it seems that The Red Count escaped from the famous fictional prison, Impel Down.
The all new storyline is the product of Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece and will have players taking control of Monkey D. Luffy, his crew, and others from the OP universe.
While released in Japan as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive, One Piece: Unlimited World RED will be coming to North America on Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. Be sure to check back to CGM as more details arise.
