Comics Out Today 04/23/2014 4

Hey everyone, another new Wednesday means it’s another new comic day. This week has the beginning to a new murder mystery, a hero adapting to his new home, a Canadian superhero team forming, the kind of ending to a group of teenagers, and the start of an assassin’s ongoing series.

Original Sin #0
By: Mark Waid and Jim Cheung

The biggest Marvel title this week is the prologue to their huge summer event. Original Sin centres around the murder of The Watcher, an alien being who was sent to observe, and who now holds the universe’s darkest secrets.

This issue will focus on the origins of him, and what the implications of witnessing secrets from multiple realities can cause.

Daredevil #2
By: Mark Waid and Chris Samnee

Mark Waid’s second Daredevil series continues on from last month. Daredevil has barely even had a chance to settle down to his new home in San Francisco, and he already has another criminal organization after him.

In this issue he gets in way more over his head, and might have to deal with another Marvel hero after coming on to their home turf.

Justice League United #0
By: Jeff Lemire and Mike McKone

After the events of the DC cross-title event Forever Evil, the Justice League of America will be relocating to the Great White North.

Adam Strange will be bringing in Green Arrow, Animal Man, Hawkman, Supergirl, Stargirl, and Martian Manhunter will be investigating a disturbance in the stars that will cause them to become the Justice League of Canada.

The title will also show a brand new Canadian superhero that Jeff Lemire created specifically for this series.

Teen Titans #30
By: Scott Lobdell and Tyler Kirkham

Originally the final issue of Teen Titans, the series will relaunch in July under a new creative team; Will Pfeifer and Kenneth Rocafort who have worked on Red Hood and the Outlaws and Superman in the past.

This issue sees the fallout after the DC cross-title event Forever Evil. The body of Superboy is missing and the Teen Titans will have to fend off the stronger Harvest, and his forces of N.O.W.H.E.R.E. to prevent it from falling into his hands.

Elektra #1
By: Haden Backman and Mike Del Mundo

Marvel’s most well known female assassin begins her new series this week. Like many antiheroes, as much as Elektra tries to escape her past, it keeps coming back to haunt her.

It’s unclear whether this takes place before, during, or after her time on the Thunderbolts, a team of other antiheroes such as The Punisher, and Red Hulk who hunt down lesser known villains.
