Straight from the “Honey, I shrunk the superhero” department, Marvel and Disney finally release a trailer for the upcoming Ant-Man movie. As you’d expect from a superhero with a name like “Ant-Man,” Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, has the ability to shrink down to the size of an ant. This is a big, juicy, proper trailer, laying out the bones for the story, and even showing us Michael Douglas, playing Hank Pym, who, Marvel comics fans will know, actually was Ant-Man in the original comic run, then went on to change his name to Yellow Jacket, who also appears in this movie as the villain.
Judging from the trailer, the usual Ant-Man powers of shrinking down and communicating with ants are intact, although no actual ant riding was seen. There’s also a little bit of DC’s Atom super power going on, as Rudd apparently has some control over his mass, letting himself whack full size humans with startling effectiveness while still remaining tiny.
The movie is, of course, set for a summer tent-pole release, this July 17. Check out the tiny action goodness—and by now trademark Marvel comedy antics—in the trailer below.
