I can smell the magic; the magic of the meeting between Gearbox and Lionsgate to develop a Borderlands movie.
Gearbox announced today their(and Take-Two Interactive Software's) partnership with Lionsgate to develop a tent-pole motion picture of their critically-acclaimed videogame series, Borderlands.
Producers Avi and Ari Arad will be leading the creative team. They are responsible for some of the greatest videogame and comic movies to date, including Iron Man, X-Men, X2, Blade, and Blade II, just to name a few. Lionsgate has had their fair share of flops to go with their successes, but they are currently best known for The Hunger Games movies.
There are no hints as to what the story will be about, but I'm betting it will include some of the characters the players have come to know and love. Handsome Jack being the obvious choice.
