Nuketown Is Back, With A Catch

Everyone’s favorite Call of Duty map is coming back, but Activation is locking it behind a pre-order.

It seems the team building Black Ops have revamped the Nuketown map and getting it all ready for Black Ops 3. The map will be redesigned for the new futuristic setting of 2065 and will be available for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One version of the game. But like all good things, there is a catch. If you want to get your hands on this new version of Nuketown, you will need to pre-order Black Ops 3. Yet Another company pushing consumers to buy the game early before they know if things will be good or if it will live up to the hype.

Once you pre-order the game, you will get a code that will redeemable once the game comes out on November 6. It should also be noted that Nuketown will not be available on the PS3 or Xbox 360 version of the game

Now, these pre-order incentives are growing in the games industry. More and more companies are locking things away from players unless they buy it early from select stores. As with any product, it is possible the new version will not be to everyone’s taste. Locking a map that fan may enjoy behind a pre-order means that people are forced to buy early to enjoy the full gaming experience. In the end, this hurts more players than it helps. It is always better to wait and find out if a game is good, before running to the store to give them your money.

If publishers want to give bonuses to loyal players that is one thing, but to force people to buy early is not the way to do it. Sound off below, are you a fan of pre-order bonuses or do you think they should stop?
