Users begin by creating an avatar for the app, or what Nintendo calls a Mii. The Mii will ask questions to the user who can provide answers for their friends who connect with them. The app will feature character customization, allowing users to change the appearance and clothes of their Mii.
Miitomo had one million users within three days after its launch in Japan, becoming the most downloaded app on the Japanese App store.
