Sony has registered a domain name for what could be a 2017 Spider-Man standalone film. The domain, SpiderManHomecomingTheMovie.com, suggests Spidey’s newest movie will be titled Spider-Man Homecoming. Upon following the link, clickers will be redirected to Sony's website. This news follows the reveal of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the Captain America: Civil War trailer.
The title for the movie suggests that it will include Avengers cameos, if Homecoming follows the 1980s Spider-Man storyline with the same title. The original Homecoming storyline featured appearances from Iron Man and Captain America, whose respective actors have both spoken about filming something together in Atlanta. What makes this so convincing is that Atlanta, Georgia is the filming location for the movie.
The newest rendition of Spider-Man will first appear in Captain America: Civil War on April 26. If this leak is proven true, Holland will also appear as the titular superhero in Spider-Man Homecoming in 2017.
