Ex-Devs from YAGER, the studio behind titles such as Dead Island 2 and Spec Ops: The Line, have collaborated together to make a new tech-noir tactics game titled All Walls Must Fall.

The Ex-Devs, now known as inbetweengames, decided to go independent from YAGER after seeing their projects continuously cancelled. The four-member team wants to create games that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to be made in a AAA studio.

All Walls Must Fall takes place in Berlin, Germany in the year 2089, a world where the Cold War never ended. Inspired by classic 90’s games like XCOM and Fallout, players command secret agents using time-travel, social stealth and combat in isometric action tactics style levels. The main objective of the game is to destroy the infamous Berlin Wall, which has stood tall for over 100 years, and prevent a nuclear war.

The game is only a few months along in production, but has a gameplay prototype, which includes procedural level generation and shows off some of the key mechanics. More of the game will be shown off during Berlin Games Week.

Inbetweengames currently has no plans to crowd-fund the game, instead aiming to release the game on Steam’s Early-Access platform in Fall this year. The team chose this form of release so they could get constructive feedback while they continue to develop the game, rather than a way of funding it.
