The Phantom Thieves of Persona 5 took over Tokyo Tower today to reveal a lot of new details about the upcoming game, including its release date for Japan, September 15 on PlayStation 4 and 3. Broadcasted on various livestream platforms, the event began by showcasing a new gameplay and cinematic trailer.
The trailer reveals a number of new party members, bringing the total cast currently to eight, and showcases interactive levels, which will feature puzzles and platforming elements. Lastly, the trailer revealed the release date along with information on the new collector's edition.
The collector's edition of Persona 5 will include a 20th anniversary soundtrack, with tracks from every main title in the franchise, an artbook, a collector's case and of course, a copy of the game. There is no confirmation yet if this edition of the game will be coming west.
Also announced was a new anime series or movie, Persona 5 The Animation: The Day Breakers, which will air sometime in September.
If Final Fantasy XV is confirmed to release in September, two giant JRPG's will be fighting their hardest for gamer's time and money. More information on Persona 5, and hopefully a western release date, will be revealed at E3.
