Star Wars Battlefront Adds New Game Mode In Next Expansion

Star Wars Battlefront Adds New Game Mode In Next Expansion 4

Star Wars Battlefront fans, report in. A new game mode for the action shooter was announced at Gamescom in Germany today, and it’s bringing the battles to the skies. Better yet, we’re going to space.

As part of the Battlefront Death Star expansion releasing in September, DICE unveiled an accompanying game mode centered around the series’ iconic weapon entitled Battle Station. The brand new and unique mode will feature three different phases players will take part in – each with their own objective – that will have players battling in ships and inside the Death Star itself.

In the first phase, the Rebels will pilot their trusty X-wings and A-wings and engage in space dogfights against the Empire in their TIE fighters and TIE interceptors. The objective of the Rebels is to take out enough TIE fighters so the Y-wing bombers can begin their assault on a Star Destroyer. If the Rebels manage to succeed, the battle will switch character combat.

Phase two takes place in the grand interior of the Death Star, where we find the Rebels attempting to extract a high-priority droid located somewhere inside. Players will get the chance to try out two new heroes, Bossk and Chewbacca, in order to shift the tides in their favor.

Lastly, in phase three, the Rebels will need to bring down the space station once and for all, and put an end to the Empire’s plans. Luke Skywalker will pilot his trusty Red-5 X-wing in order to help the Rebels emerge victorious. The Empire won’t go down without a fight, however, as Darth Vader will be flying around in his TIE Advanced to protect their giant weapon.

Along with Battlefront’s new game mode, new Star Cards and Blasters will be added with the expansion. More details are expected to arrive as we get closer to the release.
