No gameplay details have been revealed, but it was announced to be a real-time tactics game.

A trailer was also released to accompany the announcement. Taking the helm of developmental director for Lost Order will be Yasumi Matsuno. The game is being produced by Yuito Kimura of Crygames and Atsushi Inaba from Platinum Games, and music will be done by Hideki Sakamoto of noiscroak.

The name Yasumi Matsuno should look familiar to some players, as he’s the director behind such games as Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics.

In addition to Lost World, Matsuno is, as far as we know, also working as Game Designer and writing the story for a new Kickstarter-backed game called Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians. It’s described on the page as “A rich, diverse Tactical RPG,” and will feature “inspiring class based tactics game play.”

However, Unsung is being hit with controversy, as it had an original release date of June 2015 but failed to meet that. The game was being developed by Playdek, who specialise in turning tabletop games into mobile games. They managed to raise over $660,000 to develop the Tactics spiritual successor, but many fans have given up on ever getting their hands on Unsung Story.

On the Kickstarter page, a post was made at the end of June of this year, promising an update on the game. That update is still yet to be seen, and many of the backers have taken to the comment section of the page, with several of them demanding refunds and some stating they have contacted their state attorney general.

Alongside Lost World, Crygames also announced a spin-off to the Granblue Fantasy series entitled Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link, also being developed by Platinum. It is described as a co-op action game that will put emphasis on cooperative play, but will feature an engaging solo mode as well. They have not said what platforms it will release on.

Lost Order is currently being developed for iOS and Android.
