Udon Announces Street Fighter & Friends 2017 Swimsuit Special

Udon announced their new image book, the Street Fighter & Friends 2017 Swimsuit Special.

The new Udon book will be 32 full-color pages. The book will display summer pinups of women from Capcom’s popular fighting game series. Characters from Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Rival Schools and Final Fight are set to appear. The Street Fighter & Friends 2017 Swimsuit Special will feature three standard covers by artists Ecchi-Star, Aki-Li and Ryan Kinnaird. A blank sketch cover will also be available along with a retailer incentive cover by Joe Vriens. Morrigan from the Darkstalkers will be featured on this special cover, wearing a swimsuit while paying homage to a classic horror image from the 1960’s. A number of different artists will be featured in the book, offering their different art styles.

Udon Entertainment is a Canadian comic studio and publisher. The studio has published a number of comics and art books for Capcom’s Street Fighter franchise and a few of their other series such as Mega Man and Breath of Fire. Udon also does work for a number of other companies. Art books were previously made Atlus’ Persona titles and Sega’s Valkyria Chronicles series.

Udon’s video game artwork has also been adapted into the games they are based on. Capcom’s 2008 remake of Super Street Fighter II Turbo used full artwork by Udon for the character portraits with high-definition sprites created to match Udon’s style. An updated version of the game will be releasing exclusively on the Nintendo Switch this month, titled Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers. The game retains the art and sprite work based on Udon’s style, adding an updated retro pixel art style as a second graphical option. New gameplay mechanics and modes have been introduced with the new version along with two new characters, Evil Ryu and Violent Ken.

Udon’s new Street Fighter & Friends 2017 Swimsuit Special will be available July 27th, 2017.
