Power Rangers: Legacy Wars Gets Morphin With New Partnership

Power Rangers: Legacy Wars get's Morphin with New Partnership

Game developer nWay, publishers of Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, have partnered with the comic publisher BOOM!

Studios to bring characters from their Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic into the mobile game.

An update later this week is bringing Lord Drakkon into the mobile fighting game. Lord Drakkon is the first new official Mighty Morphin Power Ranger created in over 20 years. Accompanying Lord Drakkon is Black Dragon. Both characters will be playable characters alongside new updates and feature additions to Power Rangers: Legacy Wars.

“We love how BOOM! Studios have taken the Power Rangers story to unprecedented and mature places, and now we’re bringing the characters to a new realm with their first appearance in a video game,” said Taehoon Kim, CEO, nWay. “Partnering with them to bring in Lord Drakkon and Black Dragon is the perfect way to bolster Power Rangers: Legacy Wars’ roster with next-level evil warriors!”

Lord Drakkon is an evil version of Tommy Oliver who comes from an alternate universe who rules over his earth with dystopian philosophies. Black Dragon is a powerful Zord from an alternate universe who’s come to destroy Tommy Oliver. Their debut in Power Rangers: Legacy Wars marks the first time either character has appeared outside of the comic book series.

Included in the update are some of the most requested features and tweaks such as a challenge mode that has players compete in a series of battles. Reaching the maximum number of wins without losing three matches will net players huge prizes. Also included is a talent system. The system lets you upgrade your warriors with passive abilities that provide bonus damage and attributes.

Developed for iOS and Android through a partnership with Saban Brands, Lionsgate, and nWay, Power Rangers: Legacy Wars is the first video game that has Rangers and villains from the show and movie fighting alongside each other.
