It seems the government may have something to do with the delay in Xbox One x pre-orders.
When the Xbox One X was announced at E3 2017, it was assumed that preorders for the console would go live shortly after. With console nearing its November release date, new rumours have sprouted on why the console still isn’t available for pre-purchase. In a recent interview with We Write Things, director of digital media strategies and strategy analytics Michael Goodman gave his thoughts on what could be behind the preorder delay.
“I don’t know this for sure, but you gotta wonder about the governmental issues there. There’s been so many articles about government positions not being filled, is that what’s delaying things? I don’t know, but we’ve certainly read enough reports about that, that it makes me wonder if that’s what the issue was. It’s completely a supposition on my behalf and I don’t have any evidence whatsoever to support this, but it seems that the issue is more on the government side than the Microsoft side,” Goodman said.
Microsoft spent a lot of time building up hype for the Xbox One X, originally known as Project Scorpio. The Xbox One X is being advertised as the most powerful console to be released. With an 8-core custom AMD CPU, the Xbox One X is said to produce a smoother gameplay experience with fewer load times. The console is also capable of 4K display.
A number of games releasing later this year and in 2018 is being developed with the Xbox One X in mind. Among them is Anthem, Bioware’s upcoming multiplayer title. Also releasing is Crackdown 3, A Microsoft exclusive that will be enhanced for the Xbox One X. The game is also set to release the same month as the new console.
The Xbox One X will be available in November for $599.99 CAD.
