All the Big Annoucements to Come Out of Nintendo Direct Mini 1.11.2018

Nintendo just finished off one of their best years ever, yet after today’s Nintendo direct mini, the company doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Without further ado here is a rundown of what happened during the event:

The World Ends Back With You Remix

It has been a decade since players have had the chance to play The World Ends Back With You. But with the latest announcement of a Switch Remix, players will be able to enjoy this game’s charm all over again, but this time in beautiful HD visuals. The World Ends Back With You Remix is set to release sometime in 2018.

Players will gain access to these characters by purchasing Pokken Tournament DX’s Battle Pack, which is now available on the eShop.

Kirby Battle Royale Demo

Kirby Battle Royale puts the Kirby series in new shoes as it undertakes the brawler genre. For those excited to join Kirby and his friends on his latest 3ds adventure, you may download a demo that is live as of right now.

Dragon Quest Builders Demo

Just like Kirby, the Switch also received a demo that was made live right after the presentation, and that is of course, Dragon Quest Builders. In Dragon Quest Builders players will be able to openly explore a vast world and of course build to your heart’s content as you fight a mysterious darkness in hopes of bringing back hope to those who reside in its lands.

Kirby Star Allies

As a common Nintendo trend, not much was shared about Kirby Star Allies in this direct other than a few new abilities such as the somewhat comic spider ability. The game is set to release March 16th, 2018

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition

Originally a Wii U and 3ds title; this critically acclaimed mix between Zelda and Dynasty Warriors is getting Nintendo’s “deluxe” treatment. Experience the complete version of Hyrule Warriors, including all content previously released on both editions of the game on your TV or on the go when Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition launches this Spring, 2018.

Mario Tennis Aces

It has been a long while since a Mario Tennis game has included a story mode, but Mario Tennis Aces promises to not only ace that, but bring many new  and exciting gameplay twerks. Not much was discussed about this title as it is set to release this Spring, 2018.

A Free Mario Odyssey Update

Seems like the odyssey with this title will contain as Nintendo seems to be bringing an entirely new multiplayer mode called Balloon World. In this new mode, players will either have the options to hide or find hidden balloons throughout Mario Odyssey‘s kingdoms, the catch is: it all has to be done within 30 seconds. Along with the new mode, the update will also bring new costumes and filters so you may continue to express your fashion expertise. The update goes live sometime in February, 2018.

While nothing else has been said about the update, season pass, gold edition owners or those who wish to purchase this content may do so this spring, 2018.

Payday 2

Despite not being an entirely new announcement, Nintendo has unveiled that Payday 2 will utilize the Switch’s HD rumble and touchscreen, delivering a more realistic experience. The Switch version of Payday 2 will inso include an exclusive playable character when it launches February 27th, 2018.

Originally promised as a launch title, Celeste seems to be a promising modern take on old platformers. Celeste will feature a wide range of difficulties, providing a suitable experience for any player. Celeste launches digitally on the Switch’s eShop January 25th.

Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze

Swing, jump and collect in Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. This game will contain all the fun challenges of the original title (with the addition of a new easy mode) along with a new set of missions including a very fittingly designed surfer Kong. Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze will launch May 4th, 2018.

Dark Souls Remaster

After months of rumours, our prayers have finally been answered. Not much information was given on what the title will bring to the table, but you may mark your calendar for when Dark Souls Remaster launches on Switch May 25th, 2018.
