More Fighters and Levels Coming to Smash Bros?

More Fighters and Levels Coming to Smash Bros? - 2015-10-02 16:11:57

A recent patch for Smash Bros for WiiU/3DS apparently contains three extra character slots and six extra stages.

Originally posted on NeoGAF user “Regulus Tera” the 1.1.1 patch shows a list of all the current characters, with three empty slots with a placeholder “Mario+7” name. The stage list contains six levels which are labelled “TikiBuzz,” probably another placeholder.

While nothing is official now, this could mean that Nintendo has plans for further DLC characters. Considering the Smash Ballot is still active, and with Ryu arriving seemingly out of nowhere, any range of characters could fit those slots. My hopes are for Simon Belmont, the leading man in the first Castlevania game which was a flagship title for the NES. His whip would give him an attack style similar to Zero Suit Samus, and a wide array of sub-items such as the throwing axes, holy water and the infamous boomerang cross would give him a lot of versatility as a character.

However, something tells me with the launch of the Shovel Knight Amiibo, and the massive popularity of the game, Shovel Knight might find his way into Smash Bros’ roster.
