It looks like Disney is shaping up to be the new owners of Fox. News broke recently that Disney is currently in talks to buy the majority of 21st Century Fox’s assets. If the deal goes through, it would obviously mean big things for Disney in the world of movies and television. New Details About Anti-Loot Box Law Revealed

More details have emerged regarding the proposal from an American politician to enact laws involving loot boxes in video games. In November, Hawaii House of Representatives member Christopher Lee spoke out against EA and the company’s practices with loot boxes and micro-transactions in Star Wars Battlefront 2. The video highlighted a number of supporters behind Lee’s cause, explaining how EA is trapping children in a cycle of underage gambling. Capcom Officially Reveals A New Mega Man Game

After years of silence, Mega Man is finally making his return. During Mega Man’s 30th Anniversary Celebration live stream, Capcom revealed the first trailer for an all new entry into the Mega Man series. Titled Mega Man 11, the new game will continue the blue bomber’s traditional 2D platforming gameplay but with new 3D graphics. Mega Man 11 will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC when it releases sometime next year. Studio Rebellion Announces Battlezone Combat Commander

A followup to the remaster of Battlezone 98 Redux released in 1998 has been revield. UK developer Rebellion announced today that the studio is working on a follow-up to Battlezone VR. The new game is set to be a remaster of Battlezone II: Combat Commander, originally released on PC in 1999. Along with recreated visuals, the game will feature achievements, cloud saving, and mod support. Set to release on PC, Battlezone Combat Commander will also allow for cross-play online multiplayer between GOG and Steam users for up to 14 players at a time. Electronic Arts is set to acquire the developers behind the Titanfall series. EA announced today that the company has purchased Respawn Entertainment for $315 million. The agreement also details that additional fees will be depending on the performance of future titles planned up until 2022. Niantic Labs has announced that a new Harry Potter mobile game is in development. Niantic Labs revealed today that the studio will be teaming up with Warner Bros. League of Legends Parent Company, Tencent, Acquires Portion of Snapchat Developers

Chinese investment company Tencent has claimed a portion of Snapchat creators, Snap Inc. Snap Inc. revealed, during a quarterly results announcement yesterday, that a large amount of shares have been bought by Tencent. The investment company acquired 145,778,246 shares of Snap’s stock, equal to about 12 percent of the company. “Tencent and Snap are not obligated to disclose changes in Tencent’s ownership of our Class A common stock, so there can be no assurance that you, or we, will be notified of any such changes,” Snap stated. Ubisoft and Take-Two Reveal Financial Earnings, Microtransactions Lead the Charge

Ubisoft and Take-Two Interactive have revealed some potentially concerning details in regards to both companies’ sources of revenue. In a report presenting Ubisoft’s finances for the second quarter it was revealed that digital game sales have been out-earned for the first time in the company’s history. The new reigning source of income is now comes from microtransactions. Ubisoft credits the raised sales to in-game items, DLC, and season passes which were responsible for $202.6 million during both financial quarters, making up 51 per cent of Ubisoft’s digital income.
