Fans of the Souls series of games have been waiting patiently ever since Dark Souls 2 launched for news about the game hitting the current generation of consoles.  Today it has been made official that the wait is almost over.  Bandai Namco Games announced that Dark Souls 2 will be getting an enhanced edition titled Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin that will finally make its way to the PS4 and the Xbox One.

Developed by FromSoftware Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the first Sin will be a game of the year edition style package and will include all three DLC packages; Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King. Hitting the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on April 7th 2015, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin will not only feature increased graphics and all add on content currently available, it will also include an expanded story featuring additional in-game events, NPC characters, game-play improvements and deadlier enemies.

Chris Gilbert, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Bandai Namco Games America went onto say that “”With Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin Edition, FromSoftware is inviting players back to the kingdom of Drangleic to experience its improved gameplay mechanics, gorgeous next-gen graphics, and uncover new unknown dangers and lore.”

If you have not played Dark Souls 2 yet and have been thinking about diving in, it would make sense waiting for this package. From everything they have shown, this version of Dark Souls 2 really will be the one to own. It will be interesting to learn more about the work FromSoftware have built and to see what the game plays like on the current lineup of consoles.
