Just as Dead Space 3 hits store shelves today, Visceral Games and Electronic Arts announced that the game will receive and expansion, titled Awakened, scheduled for release in March.
Visceral says that in Awakened, “players will experience the franchise’s darkest chapters as the Necromorph battles become even more gruesome and terrifying than ever before.” Dead Space 3 already launched with close to a dozen pieces of downloadable content on day one, giving players improvements to in-game play with premium items and armour. But Awakened will be the first story focused content.
“In Dead Space 3 Awakened, gamers will experience some of the most disturbing content they have ever seen in a Dead Space game – they are going to love it,” said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer on Dead Space 3.
Dead Space 3 Awakened will release in March for PlayStation Network and Origin for $9.99 and on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 800 points. Look for our review of Dead Space 3 in the upcoming issue of Comics & Gaming Magazine.
