Hollow Fragment Makes Its Way To North America This Summer

Bandai Namco confirmed during their Global Gamer Day event in Las Vegas that Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment will be coming to North America this summer.

Hollow Fragment features an alternate storyline from the anime, continuing the story of the protagonist Kirito and his quest to leave the virtual world he’s trapped in.

The game itself is an action RPG and will feature up to four-person multiplayer co-op, allowing you and your friends to tackle quests together. While the anime begins with Kirito on floor 1 of Aincrad, Hollow Fragment will begin on floor 76 (which cuts the 100 floor world more than half its size).

Even more interesting is the dating function that gives you and your AI partner a chance to get close. At some point of intimacy, you can even hold hands with your companion while walking around. Even more than that, some bedroom activity will take place as things get more heated (yeah, now you’re listening).

The title is a PlayStation Vita exclusive and will be available for download off the PlayStation Network Store. Hollow Fragment will also be releasing around the same time as the next anime series, Sword Art Online II. Though the first series focused mostly on sword-play, SAO II will dabble more in the shooter-genre.

The Japanese version of the game releases on April 24th.
