Precursor Showcases Tune for Shadow of the Eternals, CEO Supports Dyack

Giancarlo Feltrin released today a track for Shadow of the Eternals—Precursor Games’ spiritual successor to the 2002 survival horror hit Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem. The campaign for Shadow of the Eternals was announced this week.

According to Shadow’s crowd funding page, the piece is titled “Bathory’s Theme”, taking cues from the female serial killer Erzebet Bathory. She was notable for her obsession with youth and beauty, and bathing in the blood of her virgin victims to delve deeper into the occult and magic.

Precursor CEO Paul Caporicci posted an update on Shadow’s campaign website, explaining his reasons for recruiting former Silicon Knights founder Denis Dyack.

“Denis Dyack was my first choice for Creative [Director], as he has a keen understanding on the creative aspects of game development,” Dyack said. “It saddens me to read that people’s impressions of him are painted by anonymous accounts of other individuals. I’ve known Denis for 10 years now, and from first hand experience I consider him to be one of the most honorable people I know, and undeserving of the accusations he receives.”

Dyack is known for his controversial views, especially on both the gaming press and the impact of forum culture on the videogame industry. Precursor was founded last July; Dyack, along with seven of his fellow Silicon employees, joined Precursor.
