PS4 Has Release Date & Games

Out of Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, Sony has annouced that the PS4 will be landing in stores on Nov. 15 in North America.

The news of the November launch dates comes with a list of 15 games that will be shipping along side the console. Europe will see the PS$on Nov. 29.

Beyond the surprise announcement that Minecraft will be gracing the PS4, some other notable examples include: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, and Watch Dogs. While none of these are espeically startling – it leaves me wondering if the PS4 will be in the advantageous position of being the first next-gen opportunity to play some of these already well known quantities (sorry Wii U). All of this hinges on where Microsoft decides to place their Xbox One release date – so far only sticking with the ambiguous ‘November’.

After its official unveiling at E3 in June, Sony has been fairly quiet on what the in box offerings will be for the PS4. Sony has clarified that with the announcement – showing that the console will simply come with a packed-in Dual Shock 4 controller, cables, and sensor bar. The PS4 will be selling for $399 in the US and £349 in the UK.

This compares to the 2006 launch of the PS3 with 14 games (seven of which were sports games), and a launch price of $599 USD for the 60 GB unit.

My, how things have changed.
