Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia has announced today the PlayStation 4 would be available in Japan on Feb. 22, 2014.
The announcement was made during Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference. A highlight relating to the PlayStation 4’s Japanese release was the PlayStation 4 First Limited Pack, which would include the console itself and digital product code for downloading the PlayStation 4 exclusive title, Knack. The PlayStation 4 First Limited Pack would retail at ¥41,979, whereas the PlayStation 4 First Limited Pack with PlayStation Camera would retail at ¥46,179. (Note the PlayStation 4 Limited Pack with PlayStation Camera carries the same contents as the PlayStation 4 Limited Pack.)
Consumers in both North America and Europe will receive the PlayStation 4 three months before those in Japan—the PlayStation 4 comes to North America on Nov. 15, and to Europe Nov. 29. Japanese retail stores can start to accept PlayStation 4 pre-orders from Oct. 5.
