Steam Controller put to the test in demonstration

Valve announces Steam Controller 1

Today Valve has demonstrated the Steam Controller through a variety of different games.

Using the strange trackpads that perform both movement and camera control, Valve employees played Portal 2, and completed one of the earlier puzzles with ease.

In order to demonstrate how mouse cursor movements are mimicked, they also dip into Civilization 5. Then to put the trackpad precision through an intense scenario, they play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and blast through a training course. The player runs through course with high accuracy, shooting down stationary targets.

The controller may look extremely strange, but it seems to work quite well so far which is promising.
