New 52: Futures End #1
By: Keith Giffen, Patrick Zircher, Jeff Lemire, and Ryan Sook

The official start to DC’s first massive event since the beginning of the New 52 starts this week. Futures End will see Batman Beyond traveling back into the past to try to prevent the events already set in motion that will leave the Earth ravaged and eventually conquered by Brother Eye in the future. This issue will also have Grifter turning against humanity, and a member of the Justice League dying.

New 52: Futures End is a weekly series, and will run for a year with a number of tie ins later on.

Original Sin #1
By: Jason Aaron, Mike Deodato, and Julian Totino Tedesco

Also starting this week is Marvel’s newest major cross-title event. Original Sin will deal with the murder of The Watcher and the heroes of the Marvel Universe trying to figure out who did it and why they wanted all of The Watcher’s knowledge. The heroes will also have to deal with their own “sins” being revealed in the main series, as well as their own titles that tie into the event.

Moon Knight #3
By: Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey

“In this issue: Moon Knight punches ghosts.”

This is the one sentence used in this issue’s solicitation, and it’s all that’s needed. Despite sounding like a goofy concept, the last few issues of Moon Knight have been anything but that. Ellis’ Moon Knight run so far has been self contained stories that are perfect for new readers to pick up without becoming lost in confusion.

Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man #1
By: Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez

Despite replacing the current Ultimate Spider-Man series, Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man #1 will continue on with the current Ultimate Spider-Man.

Miles Morales is still trying his best to live up to Peter Parker’s legacy, and that will be put to the ultimate test as one of his biggest villains will be returning.

This issue also promises to answer the cliffhanger of who appeared in the last panel of Ultimate Spider-Man #200.

Green Arrow #31
By: Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino

The Outsiders War is nearly done, but life isn’t getting any easer for Oliver Queen. After all of the trials and revelations that he’s been though the past few issues, he’ll have to push even deeper to come out alive with his new family.

Unbeknownst to him, a new kingpin of crime has taken over Chicago and has a little help from one of Oliver’s biggest villains; Count Vertigo.
