The Green Lantern drill sergeant may have finally found his voice.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Michael Clarke Duncan is currently in negotiations to voice the character of Kilowog in the Warner Bros.’ live-action Green Lantern adaptation. Duncan (The Green Mile) has made several appearances in movies based on comic books, having played the Kingpin in Daredevil and Manute in Sin City. If negotiations go through Duncan, will be joining a cast that includes Ryan Reynolds and Geoffry Rush, who was recently asked to voice the character of Tomar-Re even though Green Lantern is already deep in post-production.

In the comics, Kilowog is a drill instructor responsible for training the rookie Green Lanterns, and Duncan’s deep, burly voice would be a perfect fit for the big space hippo when Green Lantern debuts on June 17.
