The upcoming remake will include a Boss Challenge mode and a new video hint feature.

Fans who pick up the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will be getting a little more than just a re-make of the 1998 classic. In addition to the Master Quest, Nintendo has announced that the 3DS version will feature an all new Boss Challenge gameplay mode and a new hint feature that provides “bite-sized videos” to help players make it through some of the game’s tougher puzzles.

“The new Boss Challenge mode acts as an extra treat for those players who reach a certain point within the game,” reads the press release from Nintendo. “It will provide players with the opportunity to face any of the previous Bosses they have defeated once again, or, the option to face and confront them one-by-one, all in a continuous battle.”

Nintendo adds that, “Players not so familiar to the Legend of Zelda series can also get a helping hand through bite sized videos available in-game which will provide hints on how to solve puzzles encountered during your journey.”

The Master Quest, of course, isn’t  exactly new considering that it was originally made for the N64DD and was first released in North America as a bonus for pre-ordering The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker for the Gamecube. Regardless, the Master Quest and the Boss Challenge should add to Ocarina of Time 3D and it should dispel some of the ‘remake’ criticism that was directed at Nintendo.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will be in stores on June 19 for the 3DS.
