Warner Bros. confirms Dark Knight Rises roles for Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard

Despite the rumors, the latest Dark Knight Rises casting decisions aren’t as exciting as you’d think.

We already knew that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard would both be appearing in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, but their roles had been kept secret until now. A new Warner Bros. press release reveals that, “Gordon-Levitt will play John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon,” and that “Cotillard will appear as Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.”

There had been rumors that Gordon-Levitt and Cotillard would be playing Alberto Falcone and Talia Al Ghul, respectively, so the news may be a little disappointing to fans who were expecting some more recognizable characters.
