The Canadian government is concerned about the recent violation of digital privacy.
We already know that the British government is investigating the recent Sony fiasco, but the office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada is also looking into the massive security breach that has befallen the PlayStation Network.
“We are currently looking into this matter and are seeking information from Sony,” a government spokesperson told Canada.com. “We will determine next steps once we have a full understanding of the incident.”
Privacy Commissioner Jennifer Stoddart is responsible for matters involving the privacy rights of Canadian citizens, so her involvement is to be expected when you consider that the security breach compromised over 75 million PSN accounts. We’ll just have to wait and see if Sony faces any sanctions at the end of the investigation.
