Admission won’t cost you a dime at the annual Toronto Comic Arts Festival.

A quick public service announcement for everybody living in Toronto: The Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) officially kicks off tomorrow at the Toronto Reference Library at 789 Yonge St., and admission is free so you’ll probably want to check out the festivities sometime during the weekend. The Festival is a showcase for comic book artists who fall outside the traditional superhero spectrum, and it’s a great opportunity to discover new artists, pick up new books, and discuss comic books as a legitimate artistic medium.

Special guests for TCAF 2011 include David Boswell (Reid Fleming: World’s Toughest Milkman), Chester Brown (Yummy Fur, Underwater, and Louis Riel), and Darwyn Cooke, and there are panels and events scheduled throughout the weekend. The Toronto Comic Arts Festival runs from 9am-5pm on Saturday, May 7

th

and from 11am-5pm on Sunday, May 8
