Junction point studio closes

Known for their development of Epic Mickey, Junction Point’s Austin, Texas studio has closed along with the resignation of Warren Spector, former President at Junction Point and Disney Interactive, from Disney.

Some trouble was heard last week at the company as staff was said to have been on leave for more then a month.

“It was with much sadness that we informed our teams today of changes to our Games organization, which include the closure of Junction Point Studios,” A Disney representative said.

“These changes are part of our ongoing effort to address the fast-evolving gaming platforms and marketplace and to align resources against our key priorities. We’re extremely grateful to Warren Spector and the Junction Point team for their creative contributions to Disney with Disney Epic Mickey and Disney Epic Mickey 2.”

It’s not clear right not what this exactly means for disney’s game department, as its new endeavour Disney Infinity, following the same route as Skylanders with its ‘toy-to-life’ concept, currently in development with Avalanche Software to release in June.
