Saints Row IV announced for August release - 2013-03-15 14:08:36

A new Saints Row title is headed for a release this summer. Deep Silver released a teaser for the game this morning, announcing an August release date.

“In Saints Row IV, the head honcho of the Saints has been elected to the Presidency of the United States. Wield gargantuan superpowers and fight to free humanity from alien granddaddy Zinyak’s mental grasp,” said the Deep Silver press release.

Deep Silver’s parent company, Koch Media, acquired Volition and the Saints Row franchise during January’s THQ property auction. Saints Row IV was originally being developed as an expansion to Saints Row: The Third, titled Enter the Dominatrix, but was eventually turned into a full sequel.

Saints Row IV is scheduled for a release on the current generation of consoles and PC on Aug. 20 in North America. Game Informer learned from Deep Silver that the title will not be coming to Nintendo’s Wii U. We’ll have more on Volitions latest next week from PAX East.

The trailer can be seen here. What you do you think of the Saints Row IV announcement? Are you ready for a new title in the series?
