Anita Sarkeesian Resurfaces with Second Part of Tropes vs. Women in Video Games Series - 2013-05-28 20:36:16

Anita Sarkeesian—known for her controversial Tropes vs. Women in Video Games series—released today the second part of the Damsel in Distress YouTube episode.

Last May, Sarkeesian launched a Kickstarter that would discuss the topic of women in video games. Sarkeesian eventually raised $150,000 for her project, but throughout the campaign, she experienced monumental backlash. Worse enough, a game, titled Beat Up Anita Sarkeesian, was created to give players the chance to beat up Sarkeesian’s likeness.

Sarkeesian launched the first part of the Damsel in Distress YouTube episode on Mar. 7. Since then, Sarkeesian has disabled comments, drawing the ire of viewers and critics alike.
