Gran Turismo 6 is slated for a Dec. 6 release for the PlayStation 3, however its next-generation counterpart is still in the works and won’t be ready for another year or two.
Polyphony Digital producer Kazunori Yamauchi told Famitsu in an interview that the next-gen version of the game will likely be called Gran Turismo 7.
When asked about the status of the PlayStation 3 version of the game, Yamauchi said, “It’s really hard to give an accurate answer to that. The basic components are already complete, so overall I’d have to say about 80 percent.”
The newest entry in the Gran Turismo series will look to avoid last-minute delays, as the release of Gran Turismo 5 endured a three-week delay right before its release.
