Developers claim PlayStation 4 faster than Xbox One

According to developers, the PlayStation 4 reads memory 40 to 50 percent times faster than its next-gen competitor, the Xbox One.

In an interview with Edge magazine, the developers said the difference between the two consoles when it comes to performance is “significant”, and “obvious.” They added the ALU (arithmetic logic unit) is 50 percent faster than that of the Xbox One.

Microsoft is aware of the situation, and has recently increased the clock speed of the Xbox One. However, a developer explained the change to the clock speed is insignificant.

“It does not change things that much,” he said. “Of course, something is better than nothing.”

Positive remarks surrounding next Mass Effect

A handful of developers chimed in about the upcoming Mass Effect game, and had positive things to say about the game’s shape so far.

Despite all the excitement surrounding the game early on in its development, Yanick Roy, studio director at Bioware Montreal, said the public won’t get to see the game for some time.

Bioware has announced the next Mass Effect game will not feature Commander Shepard, and according to Hudson, it will run on the Frostbite 3 engine.
