It has been announced that the Xbox One will record gameplay video of each achievement obtained, allowing gamers to share their experience online.

According to The Escapist, “because the machine is constantly recording the last five minutes of gameplay, it will actually be able to detect when you unlock a new achievement, and automatically save a video of the gameplay leading up to it.”

The capturing is done by Xbox One’s installed DVR, allowing for quick and automatic recording.

Microsoft’s creation of achievements has changed gaming in a dramatic way, adding replay value and a whole new angle for online gaming.

As of now, Sony has not announced a similar function for the PlayStation 4. While the console continually records the last 15 minutes of gameplay, it is not linked to trophy obtainment in any way. The Xbox One comes out in North America on November 22nd.
