Dark Souls II graphic novel revealed 1

If you didn’t really follow Dark Souls‘ story – you probably weren’t alone – you may be interested to hear that Namco Bandai and From Software have partnered up with British comic book veterans for an all-new graphic novel called Dark Souls II: Into the Light.

The graphic novel is set in the Dark Souls universe, and will be released in early January 2014 ahead of its console game counterpart. Details regarding plot haven’t been announced yet, however Namco Bandai said the novel will offer an “Extended experience to hardcore fans and newcomers.”

Into the Light was written by Rob Williams, whose resume includes Ghost Rider, Amazing Spider-Man, and Star Wars Tales, alongside newcomer Andi Ewington, the author of 45Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper artist Simon Coleby provided his talents for the graphic novel as well.

These are some impressive names, so it’ll be really interesting to see how they took Dark Souls‘ story, which more or less took a back seat in the game, and developed it into a full-fledged graphic-novel for the sequel.

Dark Souls II launches on March 11, 2014 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, while a PC release date has not been confirmed. A beta for the game will be available exclusively for the PS3 beginning tomorrow.
