Xbox One a top “breakthrough” product of 2013

Xbox One a top "breakthrough" product of 2013

Though some people believe the PlayStation 4 has already ousted the Xbox One in the next-gen race mainly due to lower pricing and differences in certain policies, Popular Mechanics has listed the Xbox One as one of the “Most innovative and transformative products of the year.”

The magazine said the Xbox One’s most notable improvement is its Kinect camera, which can see in complete darkness, track up to six people at once, and understand two people speaking at the same time.

“Some produces are evolutionary, others are revolutionary,” the magazine wrote. “The Xbox One is both.”

The magazine also said that technologically it’s a huge leap forward from its predecessor.

The crowd-funded Pebble Watch, Cub Cadet RZT-S Zero Mower, Seiki 50-Inch 4K TV, and BMW i3 electric car also made the list. No other gaming devices were included in the list of breathrough products.

The Xbox One launches on November 22 for $500.
