Rockstar Compensates GTA Online Players with $500,000 Following Technical Issues

As a result of the technical problems experienced on Grand Theft Auto Online recently, Rockstar Games has decided to reward affected players with in-game deposits of $500,000.

The money will be divided into two installments of $250,000. According to Rockstar’s blog post, the money will be given to anyone playing Grand Theft Auto Online during the month of October. Rockstar says players would receive the first payment of $250,000 as early as next week.

“For players who experienced cloud server errors, connection issues and lost game progress and characters in the first days of GTA Online, we hope this GTA$ helps to facilitate a fresh start or makes your continued life in Los Santos and Blaine County extra sweet,” Rockstar adds in its blog post.

Rockstar encourages players to download title update 1.04 upon its release next week, in order to ensure the in-game money would be sent to their in-game accounts. The 1.04 title update, Rockstar says, should fix any issues surrounding vehicle-purchasing loss.

Grand Theft Auto Online was released on Oct. 1, as the multiplayer component to Grand Theft Auto V.
