Watch Dogs Delayed To 2014

The upcoming open-world action game, Watch Dogs, has now been delayed to Spring 2014.

In a statement today, Ubisoft said “our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming. “It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decision to delay the release until spring 2014.”

Watch Dogs was originally set to release next month, making the delay extremely close to the original launch day. Ubisoft responded to this by saying “”we know a lot of you are probably wondering: Why now? We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality.”

Watch Dogs is set to release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U. The title is one of the most anticipated releases for the next-generation consoles. Maybe the delay will be a silver-lining for the game, as it will not have to compete as much with the recent block-buster, Grand Theft Auto V.
