2K Marin, the developer behind Bioshock 2 and The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, has recently been with hit with a large number of layoffs.
An exact number hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s been reported that the “majority” of the team has been let go. The same sources have said that the only employees safe from the layoffs are those joining the newly formed 2K studio launched by Rod Fergusson, who previously worked with Irrational Games and Epic Games.
“While these were difficult decisions, we regularly evaluate our development efforts and have decided to reallocate creative resources,” a 2K representative told Polygon. ”Our goal to create world-class video game titles remains unchanged.”
