PlayStation 4 sharing capabilities off to solid start

Despite the occasional horrific uses for the PlayStation 4’s broadcasting capabilities, Sony’s new console is proving to be a major part of twitch streaming.

Nearly 800, 000 gameplay broadcasts and more than 7.1 million spectate sessions via Twitch and Ustream have been logged according to the PlayStation Blog. This all adds up to more than 20 million minutes of live gameplay streamed from PS4 systems across the world.

Twitch also reports that 10 percent of all content broadcasted through its platform is from PS4 consoles.

Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, commented on the blog saying, “We’re very excited to see gamers embrace live streaming from their PS4 system and we look forward to seeing how PlayStation gamers advance social gaming in the coming years.”

Do you own a PS4? Have you used its sharing capabilities? Let us know, and tell us what you think about it.
