Ryozo Tsujimoto, series producer of Monster Hunter, says that resources are the reason Monster Hunter isn’t appearing on home consoles.
“It’s based on resources. Frankly, it’s not like we have some multi-thousand member development team on this game. It’s about 150 people on the Monster Hunter development team.”
News came way of Eurogamer, who sat down with Tsujimoto to discuss the series growing community in the west.
While Monster Hunter has not appeared recently on consoles, the original game, Monster Hunter, was released on the PlayStation 2. Unfortunately, almost all subsequent home console releases came out only in Japan (Monster Hunter Tri did come out on the Wii and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U).
Fear not though, as Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is coming Nintendo 3DS in America next year. You can read more about that here.
