eSports get X-Tream

eSports get X-Tream - 2014-04-28 13:10:48

There was a time when X Games was the hub of extreme sports like BMX and Skateboarding. Now, another activity will be featured. Step aside athletes, eSports has found it’s way to X Games Austin.

Teaming with ESPN, the Major League Gaming, or MLG Invitational is a first for X Games, but the event has grown to feature a wide variety of sports and entertainment. The tournament will feature the top five Call of Duty: Ghosts gamers (ranked by MLG) and will be played on the Xbox One. The winner receives an X Games medal.

“This collaboration with X Games will help further bring MLG to the mainstream while we provide advertisers with quality exposure and deep engagement with our fan base on MLG.tv across all platforms,” says MLG’s executive vice president of sales Don Reilley in a press release.

X Games Austin starts June 5, 2014 and continues until June 8. The MLG Invitational starts on the second day and continues until the end.  Tickets are available to those who want to go. But if it’s too far for you, MLG.tv will provide a stream.
