New Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Character Revealed, and New Trailer Released 4

Another week means more news about Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and this time a new character has been revealed.

The latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famatsu has revealed that an older Ken Amada and Korumaru the dog from Persona 3 will be playable as a team.

Like in Persona 3, Ken will be using a spear and light based attacks from his Persona for longer ranged attacks, and Korumaru will be using a kunai and fire based attacks for his Persona for rushing in and keeping pressure on in close range.

This means that the Best Buy leak on their website a month ago was correct, as it mentioned that both Ken and Rise are playable characters in the game.

Also released today was another trailer for Persona 4 Ultimax that showed off the antagonist Sho Minazuki.

Sho beating up on Youske from Persona 4. Looking at the upper left corner shows that this is the form of Sho without a Persona.

Sho is a brand new character to the Persona series, despite wearing the jacket that male characters wear in Persona 4 around his waist, and wearing an arm band much like the main characters of Persona 3 did. He hates other Persona users and wants to kill the other characters in the game. He also apparently comes up with really bad puns that annoy everyone else.

He uses a twin pair of swords and is a typical rushdown character with fast moves that combo easily. Most interesting about him is that he has a form with and without a Persona. When he has his Persona, he gains more zoning and ranged attack possibilities.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax releases on August 28th in Japan, and September 30th in North America on Xbox 360 and PS3.
