Valve delays Steam Controller to 2015

Valve delays Steam Controller to 2015 - 2014-05-27 22:11:01

It seems this week has been filled with delay announcement, starting with The Order 1886, Now, via the Steam Community, Valve have just given word that the fabled Steam controller will be delayed till 2015. The controller has undergone many iterations since it was first unveiled in connection to Valves push into the living room, and it seems there is still more work to do.

It seems the people over at Valve want to ensure the controller can be a viable alternative to the standard mouse and keyboard setups. In the announcement they state:

“Obviously we’re just as eager as you are to get a Steam Machine in your hands. But our number one priority is making sure that when you do, you’ll be getting the best gaming experience possible. We hope you’ll be patient with us while we get there. Until then, we’ll continue to post updates as we have more stories to share.”

Valve have some exciting things planned for the living room, from SteamOS to the Steam Box, with it all hinged on the concept that the Steam Controller will be up to the challenge. I for one am excited to see what this delay will allow them to do with perfecting the hardware. What do you think, is this move good or bad for gamers. Let us know in the comments section bellow!
