Harmonix Explains New Rock Band Songs

Harmonix Explains New Rock Band Songs - 49721

Just a few days ago- on Tuesday January 13th to be exact- Harmonix decided to resurrect Rock Band 3 and Rock Band Blitz by adding three new titles to the Rock Band Store. It was kind of random, but also a bit of a nice surprise to many fans of the rhythm genre.

It led to some speculation for why-after almost two years- we are getting new DLC. It turns out, it’s because they can. “We wanted to see if we could still do it,” says Nick Chester, PR and Communications Lead at Harmonix. “Turns out we can. It’s sort of like riding a bike.”

The songs added to the store were R U Mine by Arctic Monkeys, Shepard of Fire by Avenged Sevenfold, and Something from Nothing by Foo Fighters. While the latter two bands were already featured in the series before, this is the first time for English indie rock group Arctic Monkeys. “We had an exciting opportunity to add new content to the already-massive Rock Band library,” says Chester. “We couldn’t pass it up.” As of now, there aren’t any plans for more DLC, they’re taking it slowly.

If you haven’t downloaded the new songs already, they go for $2 on the Rock Band Store. And are already available.
