343 Promises New ‘Halo’ Content next Month.. and some more Fixes 2

The Halo: Master Chief Collection suffered arguably the most disastrous launch of all the games last year. Plenty of them shipped broken, or were basically unplayable. The Master Chief Collection’s online component was one of those titles. It took the developers four months roughly to patch up the matchmaking issues and now for those who’ve endured through such hardship, get a reward.

343 Industries says the promised free Halo 3: ODST expansion pack is “on track” to be part of the content coming to avid Halo players next month. That’s not all either, the long awaited Relic Multiplayer map remake will be coming as well, with a new name.

They also released a new patch last night to improve stability in several areas such as ranking, matchmaking penalties and game-specific improvements for the title.  They have resolved a number issues plaguing the experience with this patch but they’re planning to reset the rankings in Halo 2: Anniversary soon. In addition, they will begin to roll out new playlists in the next day or so.

The patch fixes ranking inconsistencies and penalties to all players. They also addressed an issue a few reported that some would rank down multiple levels considerably after a loss as well as players another issue with player’s ranks not appearing correcting.

Speaking of penalties, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will begin to penalize players who rage quit in the comfort of their home. Exiting the match in any fashion multiple times will result in a loss each time. Depending on how frequent you exit a match, players will drop a level now.

The incremental updates to the UI throughout the title have also been touched on, especially in regards to notifications. The company also improved playlist and campaign career stats tracking in Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4.

So the meantime you can continue the fight online until the next content packs are available. But if you aren’t by your console, 343 Industries have released some brand new in-game screens of the Halo 3: ODST content pack here. Enjoy.
